Tugu Kunstkring Paleis
Central Jakarta
About
Where Jakarta’s colonial history meets art, heritage, and Indonesian dining.
Tugu Kunstkring Paleis is a historic restaurant and art space on Jl. Teuku Umar No. 1, Menteng, Central Jakarta, housed in a building originally opened in 1914 as the Fine Arts Circle of the Dutch East Indies. Today, the venue combines a fine restaurant, art exhibitions, gallery, lounge, tea house, and private dining spaces. Its cuisine spans authentic Indonesian dishes, Southeast Asian flavors, and Western selections, including the traditional Betawi Rijsttafel. The restored interiors and dedicated rooms featuring figures such as Soekarno, Raden Saleh, and Multatuli make it a distinctive destination for guests interested in Jakarta’s culinary and cultural heritage.
