Kindling

Kindling is a contemporary fine-dining restaurant on Jl. Cikini Raya No. 20, Menteng, Central Jakarta, housed within the former residence of Lily Kasoem. Chef-owner Vallian Gunawan presents an Asian-inspired tasting menu refined through French culinary techniques, with dishes drawing from Indonesian and Chinese flavors. The historic residence, originally built in 1900 and later expanded in 1970, has been carefully preserved and transformed into an intimate dining setting across three rooms. Kindling offers set-course dining from Tuesday to Saturday, 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM. It was also named among Tatler Asia’s Best 100 Restaurants Asia-Pacific 2025 and Tatler Best 20 Restaurants Indonesia 2026.
